Attached you will see another picture of Viviana. She is the only full time OM employee in Montevideo, Uruguay. OM is a 5,000 member missionary organization that began in 1952. OM was established by George Verwer. He has a world-wide reputation. In Uruguay the office is small but effective. Alejandro Las has a second job, and that is to be the director of OM in Uruguay. Viviana’s husband has a modest job of home renovations. It is not very well paying. Viviana and her husband have one daughter. They live behind the OM headquarters in a 900 square feet modest home. They pay rent to OM for this home. The rent that they pay is paying the utilities and the property taxes for OM. Alejandro does not make any profit from this rent payment.
Alejandro told me personally and I have seen this myself, that Viviana is very organized. She does an excellent job keeping the OM bookstore running. The bookstore sells books and various quality Christian materials to churches and their members and, of course, to the general public.
When Alejandro is invited to speak in different churches about the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, Matthew 28.19 and Acts 1.8, Viviana and Alejandro pack up the Christian materials from the book store and set up a kiosk at the hosting church to sell the various items.
Viviana has no support and needs about $2,000 US dollars per year in order to cover her expenses and her very modest salary.
Asado Ministries looks forward to helping Viviana continue the vital role she plays in the OM office by finding donors to provide her with this salary. She also serves every visitor that comes to OM from whatever country that sends missionaries to Uruguay. She is well organized, a person who believes in cleanliness. We have visited Viviana not only in the OM office but also in her home and we are impressed. We hope that this project will be appealing to some generous donors to help Viviana through Asado Ministries.
