• Why does Asado Ministries only serve Uruguay?
Because very, very few people even know about the spiritual struggles going on in Uruguay’s highly secular society today. See the video link.
• How long has Asado Ministries been a 501 c (3)?
IRS granted 501 c 3 status back to the application date, May 2014, but the official letter was not received from the IRS until February 2015.
• Do projects need to meet any particular criteria before being considered by Asado Ministries?
We will look to support any projects in Uruguay but we are much more inclined to support a project that has a goal of giving glory to Jesus Christ in some manner. We have a Board of Directors of five independent minded Christian men and women who vote on every project before Asado Ministries gives support.
• Does Asado Ministries organize trips of youth, teens, and adults to Uruguay?
We try to stay away from these type of projects. We have been greatly influenced by the author of “Toxic Charity”, Bob Lupton. We believe that discovery trips designed to determine how we can help are far better that any other kind of trips. But we will not rule out a trip that is properly organized and funded.
• Do we belong to any particular denomination?
No. –however, 4 out of 5 of our Board members belong to North Point Community Church, Atlanta, Georgia, Andy Stanley, Senior Pastor. One of our members, attends Christ the King, an Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Georgia. We work with genuine Christian/Catholic organizations or denominations and churches. In Uruguay, we have helped churches who have Mennonite, Baptist, non-denominational and Pentecostal views.
• What percentage of each donation is kept back for administration purposes by Asado Ministries?
Zero (0) is withheld. We send 100% of each donation to Uruguay for the particular project we support. We take NO money for administration purposes.
