We fervently hope we can be a bridge between a wonderful but struggling Christian population in Uruguay with the vast resources we have in the USA. We seek to identify and connect the genuine physical, emotional and spiritual needs in Uruguay, with the ability of folks in the USA to help fund those needs in a way that enables the local population to continue their work for Christ and to cause them to feel empowered to do their work, not our work for them. We desperately seek their independence and pride in accomplishment and not something that will make us feel good back in the USA.
We are able to report back to the donors what their funding has accomplished since we continue to follow the progress of all projects we support with our multiple trips to Montevideo, Uruguay.
In the most excellent treaties by Dr. Ken Boa in Conformed to His Image, Ken states: “What do you do that makes you feel God’s pleasure. Frederick Buechner put it this way in Wishful Thinking: A Theological ABC. The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet. Ken continues: “…As you become a person of calling and purpose you come to realize that God’s good pleasure is your good pleasure.
Seek satisfaction apart from Him and you will never find it; seek to please Him first, and you discover that satisfaction is a byproduct of the pursuit of God. A developing awareness of your divinely ordained purpose should impinge on every facet of your life and spiritualize your whole existence.” Page 249
