Carmen and I get so encouraged when we meet with Adrianna and her husband at Ceprodih. We had a lengthy meeting with her and her 2 additional (newly acquired) staff members (paid for by a gift from Asado Ministries in 2018.)The pictures we have attached show that the move to their newly renovated headquarters has finally been completed. There is so much room in this new place. Ceprodih is working with 250 women who attend vocational or spiritual classes, some full-time and some part-time.
This location is in the northern part of Montevideo, in a good neighborhood with busses coming right to Ceprodih’s front door. They occupy the top (fourth) floor of a monstrous building that is home to a Catholic public school on the first three floors. This building is like a refuge for those who come here.
Adrianna informs us that if she could afford two additional full time staff members, she could increase her population to nearly 500. That will take $15,000 Uruguayan pesos, or $30,000 dollars U.S. The building has the capacity to take these additional women.
This is such an uplifting project, saving many women from abortions, giving them an alternative and providing them with skills for the future and a spiritual transfomation that will guide them in this life. The attached video is in Spanish, but it demonstrates how powerful a program this is.
Ceprodih is a Uruguayan 501 c 3 organization established by Adriana Abraham about 10 years ago. Adriana actively seeks out women and children who have come from an abusive marriage or relationship and have been thrown out of their homes. Her objective is to provide these women with a safe shelter and to teach them different types of skills and then place them back into the job market. Part of her work is to assist these ladies out of the emotional state that they are in after experiencing abuse, neglect and abandonment. She had much success in placement of women as hair dressers, seamstresses, maids and janitorial services personnel in major hotels in downtown Montevideo. She has taught many artisan work and glass making, and bakery skills.
Adriana has formed her own brand name called Hallo. She has been quite successful in obtaining recycled plastics and turning them into purses, small items of luggage and carrying cases for lap tops. One of the projects that she desperately needs help with is hiring a part time psychologist at $15/ hour for 20 hours a week on a year’s contract. She is also seeking to hire a social worker at $12/hour for 20 hours a week also for the same period of time. The cost of a part time psychologist per year is approximately $15,600 and the cost for a social worker per year is $12,480. These two professionals will help Adriana with the psycho-social components of the issues that the women face every day based on their loss of dignity.
Adriana also accepts pregnant women into the Ceprodih residences and encourages them not to abort their child. Uruguay has a very liberal abortion law, and Adriana’s organization is one of the only places in Uruguay that promotes life instead of abortion.
I have known Adriana for over 10 years. She always finds a way to keep her doors open. She partners with various businesses but genuinely needs additional help. This is a great opportunity to support a woman and an organization whose heart is pure and seeks to give women hope, love, and a skill.
Please review the letter below from Adriana with accompanying pictures. Her organization is well worth our support. Will you partner with us as she struggles to make ends meet?
