Dumas Vallejo “rescues” over 100 children from SW America, a profoundly poor neighborhood close to his church. He and his wife Elsa and their family, Gaston Alejandria and Giniinni bring the kids into the Arrieth Church where he feeds them physically and spiritually.

In the summer of 2015, Asado Ministries donated $42,000 for him to buy a 25 seat, brand-new Hyundai bus. I wrote about this experience in The Brown Report dated Summer 2015.

This ministry has grown so much, they cannot fit everyone into the church building. So, Asado Ministries came along side to donate $18,000 for a second-floor expansion. Construction began in December of 2018.

Dumas informed me that they are still $20,000 short of completing this project. Unexpected first floor issues have slowed the completion. Attached is their plea for help. Will you consider joining them?

Dear brothers Tom and Carmen,
We are very happy to know that you have arrived safely at your sweet home. The truth is that each visit has a better time, they are moments that are recorded in our emotions and we will never forget, so special, unique and spiritual.

In response to the requests you have requested.
Soon I will be sending you:
1. The documents that we will be needing to register the Asado Ministries organization in Uruguay.
2. Photos with you that I have taken from the trip.

But, in this opportunity, at the request of Dumas I send you an attached document with all expenses, dollar by dollar of what the construction has been to this day.
As you will see in the attached document, USD 23,295 have been spent.
According to we estimate the materials that need to be purchased:

Materials Needed USD
100 m2 of floor ceramic 60×60 cm.
$1000
40 m2 wall ceramic 60×30 cm.
$400
4 toilets
$260
4 bathroom sinks
$240
10 interior luminaires
$500
4 bathroom sink faucets
$240
Patio floor
$2000
Partition walls of bathrooms
$1000
Exterior wall painting
$500
Interior wall painting
$500
Plaster walls
$2000
Aluminum openings
$2200

TOTAL MATERIALS TO BUY:
$10,840.

To this expense we must add the manpower that unfortunately is the most expensive item of construction, even though we have obtained very cheap and good workdays.
Estimated Labor to be able to finish: USD $10,000.

As you will see in the attached file, there has been no excessive or luxurious expense, unfortunately it is the high cost of construction in Uruguay. In fact when we started with this project we sent the plans and a detail of all the tasks to be carried out to some trustworthy companies with which I work and the budgets on their part were USD $72,954 CONSULPER (attached budget) and USD $70,000 other. From my side I know the subject well, in our country it is quite a problem what the high cost of construction means. For reference purposes, a national architecture magazine published this month where the values and updated construction prices come out every month. You will see on page 25 where says “PRECIO DE LA CONSTRUCCIÓN” (BUILDING PRICE) the value in dollars per square meter of a category 1 house, which means the most economic type of construction. That value is USD $1381 USD / m2.

If we consider our construction we are talking about 115 m2 on the first floor and 43 m2 on the ground floor, due to the kitchen, bathrooms, stairs, etc. Total 158 m2 considering our expenses USD $23,295 + $10,840 + $10,000 = USD $44,135 if we divide this value by the square meters. $44,135 / 158 = $279.33 USD / m2. Really a true miracle that we thank God for! UN MILAGRO DE DIOS!

So, to finish we are missing USD $10,840 + $10,000 = USD $20,840
It should be noted that this value has been raised a bit by the reform in Ground Floor that had not been considered before. But if we remember the budget that my Father presented to you during your visit to the USA on May 6, 2017 (attached budget). At that time 2 years ago, we estimated a value of USD $48,000. If we consider the rise in values of recent years and these figures that we manage USD $44,135 vs 48.000 we are even cheaper than we have estimated, also reforming the Ground Floor that we had not considered before. We thank God very much!

After explaining the expenses and the number we handle. As always grateful for your help we wanted to present this situation so you can evaluate it. On our part, we continue to pray that God can provide this money, and take care of what we can do. It is important to say that today we have money to work ONLY TWO WEEKS and if we do not have more funds we must stop construction. For this reason we appreciate an answer soon.

We conclude by consulting your opinion about new offerings or otherwise a loan you can make, so that we can finish the work, and monthly, at the time of the next visit to Uruguay or as you see better, replenish that borrowed money.
Sorry for the inconvenience, from here we continue fighting for the Glory of our Lord. PARA LA GLORIA DE DIOS!

A strong hug and affection in Christ!
Thank you!
Gaston.
