After renovations of the containers for the Sunday School Classrooms
Many people in Uruguay have become very resourceful with what they have available to them. Alejandro Las is no exception. As mentioned in a previous section of this website, Alejandro is now a full time pastor at Faro de la Costa. You will find a picture of the front of the church as well as a few pictures of the Sunday School classrooms that were carved out of a 53 foot cargo container. Alejandro found a welder to create some windows and a door and an electrician to put in an air conditioner. The church members painted the floor and ceiling and as you can see from the pictures below, it looks rather sharp. One container houses two (2) classrooms.
First Redeemer Church in Cumming, Georgia paid for 50 % of the lot where this container sits. Alejandro has obtained another container at virtually no cost and is ready to go through the same process to create another Sunday School classroom. In Faro de la Costa Church there is no room to create a Sunday School classroom inside the church building. Just think of how many classrooms we have in our churches.
Alejandro asked me for help to purchase another container that he can place on top of the existing container and go through the same process except adding an outside metal staircase. The entire purchase and renovation process will cost about $7,500.
How well equipped is your Sunday School classroom?This will be an excellent opportunity to help this church so that the adults can have a genuine worship time without the little children. The kids can be in their own classrooms to learn The Word of God. Please consider a modest donation to create additional classrooms for this nice church.
